I'm a huge fan of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Star Wars in general. I'm not what you would call a connoisseur of Star Wars lore, but I know enough to get around. I'm always rooting for the Empire, however the Mandalorian warrior society is my favorite 'side-faction'; always reminded me of ancient Sparta but with blasters. This is actually my first Star Wars fan art I've ever attempted. I'm not too crazy into Jedi and Sith/laser swords and all that jazz.....but I do like the idea of the Dark Saber and the heir to Mandalore story with Bo Katan. For those who don't know the Dark Saber is in fact a light saber, but it is the most unique in shape and style (resembling a katana). The one who wins the saber in combat becomes the ruler of Mandalore. I've always been a fan of female warriors and Bo Katan is quite possibly my favorite. Here I wanted to create my own version of her eventually winning the saber and fulfilling her destiny in the Star Wars universe. Can't wait to see where her character story arc takes here in the upcoming TV series!

I chose American IFBB pro bodybuilder Joelle Tyler Smith to model the character's look physique. Digitally painted from scratch with the use of several reference images to work from.
