Champions of the Diadochi

This is the 7th installment of my ongoing project "Muscle & Bronze"; modern fitness women reimagined in the Ancient World. This artwork depicts a Macedonia hypaspists (shield bearer) facing off against a Seleucid war elephant during the Wars of the Diadochi (series of conflicts between Alexander the Great's successors).

I absolutely love the style and history of the Hellenistic Age. Its artwork and in particular the artistry of military armor, has fascinated me since ever since my introduction to it in art college many years back. I have of course taken artistic license in my rendering, but still try to stay true to authenticity for the most part.
