Once upon a time in Sogdia.....

326 BC, Alexander the Great's last siege. It is in the mountains of Sogdia (modern Pakistan) where I lay my scene; depicting a Macedonian hypaspists (shield bearer) the morning after the daring raid of the 'impregnable' fortress of Aornos. A looming vulture spells impending doom for the victor.
