His Majesty's 45th Regiment of foot, grenadier company. This unit would later be formed into a special assault battalion after the fall of Louisbourg in 1758; along with grenadier companies of the 22nd and 40th regiments would become known as the 'Louisbourg Grenadiers'. They took part in the great siege of Quebec 1759 fighting under General Wolfe at such places as the assault on Beauport and the Plains of Abraham.
